Rebozo Hero Image

The Rebozo, also known as “The fabric of thousand colors”-

Is a strong, wide, and especially long textile, originating from the diverse indigenous traditions of Mexico and its surroundings.
Each rebozo weaves within it a world of identity and uniqueness through its colors, symbols, weaving techniques and types of threads, which vary from community to community and from family to family, while they are mostly handwoven from cotton, wool, silk, or atisle.
This special cloth is created for women and accompanies them throughout their lives as a versatile and even ceremonial tool—
Supports, holds, connects and heals the connection between a woman and herself, her body, and her story;
between a woman and her baby; and between in women, as it expresses a deep feminine bond rooted in trust, mutual help, knowledge sharing, and generational wisdom, especially around pregnancies, births and child-rearing.

Among its many uses:
During menstruation, as protection and support of the womb and pelvis.
During pregnancy, for supporting the belly or easing back pains, for massage and tissue release as well as energetic protection;
In labor, as a supportive, holding, releasing, and balancing tool for the womb and fetal positioning.
After birth, for pelvic closure, swaddling the baby, and carrying it.
Doulas and traditional midwives use it with various techniques during labor to support the mother and adjust fetal positioning, as well as in pre-birth pelvic opening rituals and post-birth pelvic closure rituals.

The Rebosos I import are produced as part of a Community-Social Project called Antama Textiles,
based on close collaboration with indigenous families and communities in Oaxaca, Mexico.
Together, they create small-scale, handmade textiles crafted in accordance with the artisans’ lifestyle and rooted in ancient traditions –
including embroidery, weaving, and dyeing, using natural and biodegradable materials such as local cotton and natural silk.
The entire project was founded and operates with a deep commitment to transparency, fair trade, and the principle of radical reciprocity, with at least 10% of profits returning directly to the communities through support for traditional midwives, home restoration, community education and local environmental projects.
